KSMB is a Top 40 radio station in Lafayette, Louisiana owned by Citadel Broadcasting. KSMB began broadcasting in the early 1970s with an Album Rock format as "K94." In late 1984, the format was gradually shifted from Album Rock to top 40, with a moniker change to "Hit Radio 94 ½" occurring in October. "Hit Radio" lasted until 1994, when the current brand name was adopted.
Citadel Broadcasting purchased KSMB from Powell Broadcasting in 1999.
