[edit] Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. So sorry -- I've never used the Sandbox before and have been using the entry page the way I might use a Word file in writing an article (I'm a professional journalist who loves entering Wikipedia and just writing anonymously and accurately about things I'd like to share). I think the Sandbox may antedate some of my earlier contributions, but I'll do my future edits offline for the reasons you suggest. I want to say thanks too for your super-helpful, thoughtful, and thorough assistance understanding all the different image licenses. I've been trying to understand it all for weeks, and it was still confusing to me. So it's great to get some information in general terms. I really, really appreciate it. Hi, you might want to check the talk page, 2 new files were created with the 2 options (Specimen on the €5 note alone, or on all notes). -- lucasbfr talk 13:36, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:O-I logo.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:O-I logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Typo redirect InTech HELL
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on InTech HELL, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because InTech HELL is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting InTech HELL, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Your edits to User:Wd3000
Do not worry, you are not in trouble. I just want to know (because of some user) whether you may have been the user that welcomed former Wikipedian RickK. I've been getting rumors about that he's back in that username, and I would like to confirm that. --Goodshoped35110s 03:24, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Soma triathlon
Please refer to the article's history. The article had no verified sources and the one hyperlink was to a generic dot com address. (The article was later modified to have the correct hyperlink) I believe that at the time I placed the wp:csd#a1 on there, it was warranted. However, I do agree after the several changes that is looks more like a sports stub now. Have a great day and happy editing! Jameson L. Tai 10:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Boku: Thanks for the help! As a new contributor, I was a little nervous about getting obliterated before I started.

[edit] Bird Scarer
Hi-I have some questions and you seem like you could help me. I'm sort of confused about why some companies are allowed to write articles about themselves but others are considered spam. Do you think you could outline what makes the difference please? At first I thought it had to be some sort of cultural implication like for example coca-cola was allowed to have a page because it's a part of our culture but there are other companies that have pages which are not on this level. Also, when a general idea is explained on wikipedia like "terror-eyes" (or if a writer wanted to avoid a trademarked name, "a balloon shaped like an owl with mylar eyes" or something to that effect) in the bird scarer page (a neutral, informative page) is there any way to show a picture of an actual product with permission from the manufacturer without being considered spam? I realize it's a fine line between informative and offensively PR oriented material but I was hoping you could clarify for me. Thanks so much. [edit] Bambi bucket
Thank you for being bold and in good faith trying to make this article conform to MOSTM, but this is one of those exceptions where the term in more than just a trademark, and is a generic term in the media, mainly because the term was used informally for such buckets before SEI adopted it in 1983 as a trademark. Because the term is so widely used in the mainstream media, the article is properly named "Bambi bucket", and this is supported by refs, the removal of which by you was improper. Please do not remove referenced material, and for such major edits, it really is better, and more polite, to propose and discuss on the talk page first. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 04:16, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the CSD tag from the article and have added a few references. It didn't qualify as an attack page as far as i could see. Which particular section did you feel was an attack. I have removed one sentence of WP:OR and speculation. A quick google search would have found adequate referencing for the article. Any questions may of course be left on my talk page. Thanks. Woodym555 16:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- That is one way of doing it. The proper thing to do would be to list it at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard where an admin can have a look at it and try to source it. Then again, they might just say: try and find sources. Yet, given that it was potentially a huge WP:BLP problem if left unchecked, it was right to alert someone to it. I left a note on your page simply to inform that i had removed the tag. It was also to make sure that i wasn't missing anything! Thanks for your attention! Woodym555 17:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi - I noticed you left a message about the text I removed from this article, and I just wanted to let you know that, after further discussion with the other editor, I have opened a Request for comment on the inclusion of this text. --Kateshortforbob 11:15, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] some .biz
Hi Ksero. Several editors, including myself, are attempting to resolve a situation that has become disruptive. This is in regard to an editor who is contributing with a COI, User:AeronM, creating links and a POV content fork. The editor was informed by yet another uninvolved editor that the link was inappropriate, here, and the 'shopped around' for another opinion. Thank you for contributing an opinion, but I am confused by your comment. If this site http://www.naturalhorsemanship.biz/ is not a commercial site, I do not know what is. I accept that a persona blog is linked from that commercial page, its existence does not dilute the function of the webpages - selling a product. If you think I am wrong, please explain why so that I might improve my knowledge on these matters. There has been a substantial amount of disruption as a result of the situation, I hope you can help to resolve it. If you have not already done so, please review the circumstances and contribution that has led to this disruption. Regards, cygnis insignis 08:37, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that some parts of the website do have a commercial purpose (eg. "The Tack Shop" and "The Aeron Riding Halter"). Other pages feel more like a personal home page (eg. the blog, the art page, "the real skinny on horse slaughter"... ). I guess I felt that the personal-home-page bits weighed more than the commercial ones. If you feel strongly about this, then by all means feel free to continue with dispute resolution and get more opinions.
- As for "substantial amount of disruption", I think it's regrettable if a new contributor is discouraged from editing the wiki because other editors are overly eager to apply certain policies. Sure, we can't compromise with article content, but I don't find the user page link very "disruptive". But again, if you do feel that way...— Ksero (talk | contribs) 10:20, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
User Adrian142 please do as you wish with the image. I am new to this game and any help would be appreciated. Feel free to put the image of Whitechapel church on there. I did not know how to do this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrian142 (talk • contribs) 16:21, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
