[edit] Speedy deletion of Kofler Edward

A tag has been placed on Kofler Edward, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g2.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Phgao 16:28, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kofler-49.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kofler-49.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] RefDesk thanks / LPI

No problem. Thanks for your thanks. I've had a look at Linear Partial Information (excellent article, btw ... more please!) and made a few changes, particularly the first three words - the tradition is to embolden them, not have them as a title. The categories you've chosen do not seem to be supported - I suspect there are existing categories the article could fit into, but I don't have time to look now. You might be able to find a related article and see how that is categorised. And I've changed the format of external links on Edward Kofler. Oh - and you're not using edit summaries. Please try to - it's handy to be able to see a quick description of the changes you make, when looking at the history, or an recent changes. Oh, part 2 ... Edward Kofler is your article, too. Very good. - best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk) 07:13, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I spotted, eventually, that he was your father. I think you've done well by him - a good memorial to his life & work. --14:57, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Kofgry63.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Kofgry63.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:58, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image: Koflgry63.jpg

Would you please explain me step by step how to supply the missing information on the copyright status of this image? The image of the book cover - Koflgry63.jpg was taken by myself. The author of the book is my father. He is dead and can not give me any authorization, however I know that if he was alive, he would authorize me. Please advice what to do. [edit] German Article

Hey, don't worry, there are plenty of people here that don't have English as their primary language, and that's just fine. What that message means is that there is a department on the Wikipedia that translates articles on the English Wikipedia from the foreign language. (If you were ever interested in translating from German to English you can find that page here). Once the article is translated, the message at the top is removed, and they go on and translate another article. There shouldn't be too much to worry about, I'm most certain that it won't get deleted because one line is in German. If you would be willing to translate the sentence to English that would be a great help, and then you could remove the message (or ask me or someone else to do it if you are unsure how to do that.) Hopefully that helps out. If you have any more questions, feel free to let me know! Icestorm815 (talk) 23:07, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Concerning Günter Menges; the article was deleted because it did not ascertain the notability of the subject, see Wikipedia:Notability (academics); I've put it at User:Krzysiulek/Günter Menges for you to work on, especially sourcing and verifying. Cheers. Lectonar (talk) 16:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Article

I've created a link to the article on your user page. You can find your user page by clicking here, or by clicking on the user page tab in the upper left corner. When you click on the link, you will find the article, just as you left it before it was removed. You can keep working on it there until you think it is ready, and when it is ready, we will put it back where it used to be. It might help you to read this article about how to improve your article. In the mean time, I'll give you a few suggestions:

  • If your person wrote any books or wrote some type of article, you should include that information in your article
  • If your person won any types of awards, that should also be included
  • Write about any important research that the professor may have done
  • Most importantly, You want to include some 3rd party sources, meaning references that were written by an independent group that is reliable (like a national newspaper or magazine).

Hopefully these ideas will give you a head start. Let me know if you have any more questions! Icestorm815 (talk) 20:17, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sand molded casting

It has been proposed that Sand molded casting be moved to Sand casting which is the accepted term, in english, to describe both the manufacturing process and the resulting parts. Several editors feel that "Sand casting" is a better title as it has a larger scope than "Sand molded casting" would. Feel free to make you opinion on the matter known, if you feel so inclined. Thanks, Iepeulas (talk) 15:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
