Krypteria is a power metal band from Germany. Founded in 2001, the band is now fronted by Korean singer Ji-In Cho. In the beginning, the idea was to use different vocalists, though Ji-In assumed the role of lead vocalist in 2004. They have released three studio albums and one EP, the latest one being Bloodangel's Cry of 2007.

[edit] Band history

They started in 2001 where Chris Siemons, Frank Stumvoll and S.C. Kuschnerus wanted to do a fantasy-musical CD. There was no vocalist at this time, because they wanted to record the CD with many different vocalists. In 2003, their debut Krypteria was released. Approximately one year later a large flood occurred in India, and the German TV station RTL asked them to record "Liberatio" as a benefit single. Shortly thereafter Ji-In was taken on as the lead singer of the band.

In 2005 their second album In Medias Res was released. It received significant public attention in Ji-In Cho's home country of South Korea, where their single "Victoriam Speramus" reached number one.

Krypteria's third recording was an EP entitled Evolution Principle, released in 2006.

On January 19, 2007, Krypteria released their fourth recording (and third full-length studio album), entitled Bloodangel's Cry. The title comes from the lyrics of the track "The Night All Angels Cry". Bloodangel's Cry is thus far the band's most successful work.

Recently in early 2008, the band announced that they are working on their fourth studio album and the "follow-up to Bloodangel's Cry", which they are planning to release next winter.
