Kruzof Island

Kruzof Island is an island in the Alexander Archipelago in southeastern Alaska at 57°10′N, 135°42′W. It is about 16 km (10 miles) west of Sitka, and is part of the City and Borough of Sitka.

The island is 37 km (23 miles) long and 13 km (8 miles) wide with a land area of 167.47 sq mi (433.75 km²), making it the 40th largest island in the United States. It does not have a permanent resident population.

The island is the location of Mount Edgecumbe, a small dormant volcano. There is a maintained trail leading from Fred's Creek cabin, a USFS cabin on the coast, to the summit.
