[edit] Michael Jackson

Howdy. First of all, I can't tell if anyone's welcomed you to Wikipedia yet. Either way, welcome!

As for Michael Jackson – yeah, it has a lot of issues with POV, but typically that tag is only added to articles if there is an editor or group of editors that have specific issues they'd like to hammer out with the article. Anonymous Jackson supporters and detractors are constantly adding crap to the article, and it's very hard to keep up. That being the case, keeping a POV tag on the article in perpetuity for general POV-ness is, IMHO, not so good an idea. If you've got specific issues you'd like to address, feel free to do so at Talk:Michael Jackson. I watch the article regularly for vandalism and the aforementioned POV edits, and am always willing to discuss changes. Cheers, android79 02:04, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

  • Sorry about the double-post there; server hiccup. android79 02:06, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the Welcome. My first one!
Thanks also for the info re:POV box. I know what you mean and will bear it in mind for the future. KrisW6 17:40, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

Regarding these edits that have been made to the Michael Jackson article. Do you have any sources for the information that you have put? →Journalist >>talk<< 00:33, 28 September 2005 (UTC)

“But even more interesting are two more people new to the crowd: Atlanta music business attorney Joel Katz and Island/DefJam Records chairman Antonio L.A. Reid. Their project is simple. My sources say that Katz has come to represent the Prince (of Bahrain) in a deal that would fund a record label for Jackson at Island/DefJam’s parent, Universal Music Group.”

[edit] WP:NOADS

Just a heads-up on your "No Ads" box on your user page -- it seems that controversy has largely passed and was probably blown out of proportion to begin with. I'm not really taking a position one way or another, but I just wanted to let you know.--chris.lawson 07:55, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Jackson NPOV issues

Admins generally won't block 3RR vios unless the user was warned prior to violating, or if it's VERY egregious. As he's now been warned, any further reversions will probably result in a block, but his fourth revert that he's already made may or may not. You're welcome to report on WP:AN/3RR if you wish; we might get lucky.--chris.lawson 08:09, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi, KrisW6. How are you? Ive noticed some of your edits to the Michael Jackson article. For example :this and this. Do you have any rational reasons to remove these edits. How can you be particularly sure that they are "untrue"?

Here are a couple sources for the info you requested:

These sources are both independent and authoritative,(not fansites). Ive since reverted your edits to the article. If you still have any issues, please let me know. Thanks. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 01:11, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hidden agenda

You obviously have a hidden agenda. You've accused me of having bias POV many of times. But all I've done is try to improve the Michael Jackson article as best I can. Your allegations against me have to backbone and you are purposely trying to discredit me and my information, because you want to make Michael Jackson look as bad as you can by editing information (which you call POV) added to the Michael Jackson article by me (changing biggest selling album to 2nd biggest). By discrediting my information, you think you can make your false information seem more accurate and reliable. Street walker 09:20, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I admit I am a newcomer and don't know the rules inside and out yet, but you constantly break one of the most important rules on Wiki, NPOV. Street walker 09:28, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
  • I would also like to say that my allegations of POV on your part are not unfounded. See the above topic on this page. You edited information on the Jackson article that has been cited to a reliable source. There's not a soul on earth that doesn't know about Thriller or how it is the best selling album of all-time.

p.s. Don't take my comments to you offensively. I only mean to make you aware of the NPOV mistakes you may be making. I actually value your participation on the Michael Jackson article, as the article needs people who think differently about Jackson to level out the sometimes pro-MJ bias.

[edit] Removing other user's comments on talk pages

Hi Kris, how are you going?

I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. You see, I have been searching through my history, after you made allegations about me removing other user's comments on talk pages, but couldn't find any example of this. Can you please point me in the right direction. Not only cannot I not find examples of this, but I have no memory of this. Furthermore, I have no memory of being warned about me "type of behaviour" before you came around making wild accusations. Btw, I am reporting you for editing the Michael Jackson article with false information. Street walker 10:38, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] You have taken unnecessary steps in reporting me

Please see Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress for more information about how to report people who you believe are vandals.

  • Step 1: On the user's talk page, warn that his/her behavior is not appropriate and is considered vandalism. Only add users to the list who continue to vandalize after being warned.
You did not do this. You reported me and then told me about it. I was unaware my behaviour was innappropriate. After you told me you had reported me, I ceased to remove anymore rfd notices.

I went to this page to report you, after reading the page I realised I had not completed the steps and I had been unnecessarily reported. Actually, considering my case, if necessary I should've been added to this list. So now, I am warning you about your edits on the Michael Jackson article (untrue information, blatant lies, nonsense - Demonstrations in Bahrain). You also removed correct, and accurate information that had been cited and proven, from Records and achievements by Michael Jackson.

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks.

[edit] Street walker and related issues

Street walker has requested help on Clueless newbies in understanding what he did wrong. I'm willing to assume good faith unless he's a repeat (and by repeat, I mean after this date, not before) offender. You might want to consider applying WP:AGF yourself as regards this, and even Hanlon's Razor. KillerChihuahua 21:55, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Featured article for December 25th

I noticed you have listed yourself in Category:Atheist Wikipedians. That said, you will probably be interested in my suggested featured article for December 25th: Omnipotence paradox. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-11-28 08:22
