The Renfrewshire Youth Voice (commonly known as RYV) is a youth-led organisation for young people aged 12-25 in Renfrewshire, Scotland. The group is the main youth forum in Renfrewshire raising the voices of young people in many different ways such as passing on information of interest to young people from many different partners such as Strathclyde Police or Renfrewshire Council. Also the RYV acts as the voice for young people on projects being run by the various partners aimed at young people, making sure that these projects are carried out with what is best for young people in mind.
One of the major partnerships the group is a part of is the Fireworks Safety Partnership in Renfrewshire. The Renfrewshire Youth Voice joined this partnership in 2006 and in those two years the campaigns have made national news coverage in Scotland focusing on the video podcasts made by the RYV.

[edit] History
The Renfrewshire Youth Voice began life as an "MSYP Support Group" for young people in Renfrewshire who were running for seats in the Scottish Youth Parliament. After the elections in March 2005, the newly elected MSYPs chose to invite other young people from all over Renfrewshire as join the group to gain a better perspective of what the issues are for young people. As the membership grew in number it became necesary for the group to establish its own itentity and in September 2005 the group was oficually named "Renfrewshire Young Team". Not long after the name being chosen it became apparent that the name had stirred some contraversy with the group and was deemed too similar to youth gang culture and as a result the name "Renfrewshire Youth Voice" was voted the new name of the group.
