Kristján Finnbogason (born May 8, 1971) is an Icelandic football goalkeeper.

He has formerly played for Grótta, K.F.C. Lommel S.K. and ÍA Akranes. He is currently a player for KR. He has been the main goalkeeper for KR seven seasons in a row from 1999, when the team won their first league title in 31 years.

There have been speculations on whether Kristján will retire at the end of the 2006 season. In an interview in early October, 2006, he told the media he wanted to play for KR for another season. He said that it was very exiting to play in the UEFA Cup. Kristján has also told the media that he wants to end his career as a striker at Grótta, the club he played with in his youth years.

On the 26th of September 2006, Kristján, along with teammates Björgólfur Takefusa and Gunnlaugur Jónsson, was chosen in the team of rounds 13 - 18 of landsbankadeild 2006[1].

Kristján Finnbogason made his debut for Iceland in an October 1993 friendly match against Tunisia as a substitute for Fridrik Fridriksson. He has since been capped 20 times and played his last international match in 2006.
