"With a beautiful and sultry voice, Kristine Sa sings words penned herself. A talented vocalist and writer, Kristine shares her joy and pain with the ease of a child. Not content to simply write and perform her own songs, Kristine also plays the piano and often writes the music to her songs as well. As a result, Kristine's songs are a true and deep reflection of herself. The expression of a single artist from beginning to end." [1]
[edit] Biography
Kristine Sa was born in Song Be, Vietnam on June 6, 1982. Six years later, Sa and her family immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where Sa watched her older sister, Tam Doan, make a name for herself in the local music industry. Inspired, in part, by her sister's rise to fame, Sa began to harbor her own dreams of a career in music; after secretly writing and recording songs in her basement for years, Sa took a leap of faith and joined an all-girls group at the age of sixteen. However, due to mismanagement and disorganization, the group fell apart, but not before Sa could leave a lasting impression on a friend of hers; Nemesis Records, a new record company in search of artists to record, was referred to Kristine Sa's homepage on AsianAvenue by that very friend. Astonished by the work contained on Sa's AsianAvenue page, Nemesis Records contacted Sa and convinced her to sign with Nemesis; thus, Kristine adopted her stepfather's family name, "Sa," for use in her stage name, "Kristine Sa," and began her official singing career at the age of seventeen under Nemesis Records. [2]
[edit] Career
Kristine Sa's career took off with the release of her debut album, I Never Knew, in February of 2002, with sales reaching as far out as Taiwan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Kristine continued her legacy with her second album, reBIRTH, in December of 2004; her anime project, AnimeToonz3: Kristine Sa (Lemon and Lime Editions) in November of 2005; and, finally, Hopeless Romantic in February of 2007. To this day, Kristine continues to pave the way for the new, unique brand of Pop music present in her three full-length studio albums and her Japanese-language anime remix project with DJ Jinnai and Jellybean Recordings. [2]
She has also did a voice over role in Suzuka, voicing Nana Shirikawa. [3]
