Kristina Adela Corinthos-Davis (né Kristina Ashton-Davis) is a fictional character residing in the town of Port Charles on the American soap opera General Hospital. She is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos Jr and Alexis Davis. She is also the half sister to Michael Corinthos III, Morgan Corinthos, Molly Lansing, and Sam McCall. She is currently portrayed by Kali Rodriguez.

[edit] Birth
Kristina was conceived when lawyer Alexis Davis and client Sonny Corinthos finally succumbed to a passion and sexual tension that had been building during the duo's two year friendship and had a passionate one night stand. She was named after Alexis's dead sister, Kristina Cassadine, whose death Alexis blamed on Sonny. The child was born prematurely and was in the neonatal intensive care unit at General Hospital for weeks. She also was born with a heart defect. Alexis kept Kristina's paternity a secret for years out of fear of Sonny's lifestyle. She went from being a woman who considered herself ill-at-ease around children to a loving mother. Although other characters often accuse her of being overprotective, Alexis has had more than enough reason to worry about her daughters' well-being because of violence in the mob and in her own family, not to mention Kristina's health concerns. On the December 5, 2007 episode (and in many prior episodes), Alexis stated that Kristina is 6 years old (revised to 2001 at an earlier date).

Former lover and fiancee Ned Ashton lied that he was Kristina's father and helped Alexis to alter records to fool Sonny. Ned ended up raising Kristina for a time when Alexis was on trial for killing Luis Alcazar and had supervised visitation. Alexis went so far as to impersonate a male butler named Dobson and get work in the Quartermaine household just to see Kristina during this period. Alexis didn't want Ned to be an involved father, however, and eventually got Kristina back and barred Ned from involvement. Alexis was forced to tell Sonny the truth when Kristina developed aplastic anemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. Various family members were tested, but ultimately Kristina was saved by a transfusion of stem cells from Sonny's stillborn daughter with Sam McCall. Sam later turned out to be the daughter Alexis had given up for adoption when she was a teenager. If Sam's baby had lived, she would have been both Kristina's half-sister and her half-niece.
Alexis and Kristina were threatened a few months later when Alexis's evil stepmother Helena Cassadine attempted to kill them. Kristina, her half-brother Morgan Corinthos, and adopted half-brother Michael Corinthos III were later kidnapped by Faith Rosco, a mafia rival of Sonny's who was working in cahoots with Michael's biological father, A.J. Quartermaine. The children were recovered safely, but the kidnapping gave Alexis more reason to worry about Kristina's safety in Sonny's world.

Kristina's full name was originally Kristina Ashton-Davis. After Sonny learned he was her father, he asked to have her baptized in the Roman Catholic Church. Kristina was baptized with the additional name Adela, in honor of her paternal grandmother Adela Corinthos. Alexis chose her first name in honor of her dead sister Kristina Cassadine. Various online sources list her surname differently, as either Kristina Davis or Kristina Corinthos. Some fans assume that her name is Kristina Corinthos Davis, with Corinthos functioning as part of her surname. On different episodes of the program, a judge has referred to the character as either Kristina Ashton-Davis or as Kristina Corinthos-Davis, but when her full name is used, it's usually as Kristina Davis.

Alexis currently has custody of Kristina, but Sonny has visitation. Although Sonny loves Kristina, he also once said that she should never have been born because he and Alexis are too different and dislike each other too much. He worries about how Kristina will react when she learns that he had an affair with Sam McCall, the daughter Alexis gave up for adoption when she was a teenager. Sonny and Sam had a stillborn daughter who would have been both Kristina's half-sister and her half-niece if she had survived. When talking about his children, Sonny once referred to "my children (Michael and Morgan) and Kristina," indicating that he feels somewhat disconnected from Kristina. However, Sonny also has seen Kristina regularly and is determined to maintain his parental rights.
Kristina loves Alexis's former husband Ric Lansing, who is both her paternal half-uncle and her former stepfather, and called him "Daddy Ric" during Alexis's marriage to him. Kristina loves her half-brothers Michael and Morgan, but she is beginning to be aware that her mother thinks there is something wrong with her father's family and told Ric that she wants her "real father" instead of him.
In the past two years, Alexis developed cancer and Kristina was upset when Ric gained custody of her sister and Molly didn't live with them anymore. Alexis has regained custody of Molly and is in remission. Alexis also moved her daughters into Wyndemere for a time when they were being threatened by Anthony Zacharra, but has now returned home.
Thus far, Kristina has been portrayed as a sweet, unspoiled child with good manners and affection for all of her family members, though she can also be strong-willed and Alexis has complained to Ric that Kristina argues with her about things. She seems largely unaffected by her father's world, unlike her adopted half-brother Michael Corinthos III, though she has twice become catatonic after witnessing violence involving a family member, most recently after she spotted Text Message Killer Diego Alcazar lurking outside the window. Several years earlier she had seen her older half-sister Sam shoot Diego and also went catatonic.
After Alexis learned that Sonny gave up his rights to Morgan and Michael, Alexis is currently asking Sonny to give up his rights to their child but he is refusing to do.
