[edit] Biography

Kristie was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. As an energetic three year old, she’d spend hours singing and dancing to her Cyndi Lauper record, atop the family coffee table… with mic in hand! As the coffee table continued to take a beating, her Mom decided to put her into dance class. This eventually led to countless hours in the dance studio, studying with a voice coach, and acting classes. After years of competing, receiving numerous prestigious awards and scholarships, Kristie fell into Vancouver’s regional musical theatre circle. There she honed her craft, and went on to perform in over a dozen musical productions. By the time she was 17, she was a member of Canada’s premiere Young Company at the Charlottetown Festival. As the youngest member of the company, she drew rave reviews and attention in the company’s production of “Somewhere In The World”, and can also be heard on the original cast recording.

Upon her return to Vancouver, she was bitten by the film bug, and worked steadily in the film industry, appearing in various TV episodics, Movies of the Week, and TV features, as well as commercials and various animation voiceovers. While performing the role of “Zaneeta” in the Vancouver Playhouse’s production of “The Music Man”, she landed one of her proudest roles to date. After auditions were held in New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and all across Canada, Kristie was chosen to star in the role of “Sophie Sheridan” in the 2nd National tour of the hit Broadway musical, “Mamma Mia!”. At the young age of 19, she toured with the show for 2 years, across 51 cities in the United States, and performed 832 performances to rave reviews.

After taking her final bow on February 28, 2004, she returned to Vancouver to start a new chapter. She immediately began rehearsals for Showtime’s original movie musical feature “Reefer Madness”, followed by a supporting lead role in Warner Bros’ “The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants”, which hit theatres in June of 2005. Kristie then moved to LA for a year, to continue her film career, as well as to broaden her knowledge in filmmaking and producing. Apprenticing many industry professionals, whom she'd worked with in the past, it gave her the opportunity to experience many aspects of the business that actors often don't get to experience. Kristie returned to Vancouver in the summer of 2005, to again work in Vancouver's vibrant film industry. Appearing as a guest star on many TV series, she landed a recurring guest star role on The N Network's new comedy series, About A Girl. Playing "Erin", she's seen in the entire 13 episode order for the first season, which will start airing October 5, 2007.
