Kristian Schmid (born in Victoria, Australia on November 28, 1974) is an Australian actor who first appeared as Todd Landers in the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours. Later he starred as Adam Newman in the 1990s remake of The Tomorrow People. While on a four year work permit in the UK he made appearances on several UK television shows, he was voted by the public to be covered in gunge and slime on Noel's House Party, and two years later had to sit under a large nose emitting pretend 'snot' on kids show Gimme 5.

He has starred in two versions of the play Two Weeks with the Queen by Morris Gleitzman. The first time for the BBC in London and the second for the Windmill Theatre Company in 2006. He won rave reviews for his performance of Alistair, Colin's nerdy and neurotic cousin.

He has performed in three versions of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and numerous pantomimes in the UK with Richard Cheshire.

He played the role of Danny in the Australian film Blurred, about Schoolies Week. His co-stars were Craig Horner and Jess Gower.

He also appeared in the Foxtel comedy Stupid Stupid Man as a newspaper journalist.

Schmid's current role is as Leading Seaman Robert J. Dixon in Channel 9 drama Sea Patrol. He appeared in all thirteen first season episodes, and also appears in the second season, currently airing on Australian Television.

In 2003, Schmid married actress, journalist and newsreader Deborah Clay. On 20th January 2007, their son, Leo John Schmid, was born.
