Kristapor Araratov

Kristapor Gerasimovich Araratov (Araratian, 1876, Nalchik - 1937) was an Armenian military commander, general (1919), the Military minister of Armenia from Mart 1919 to April 1920.

He studied in Tbilisi, then in Saint-Petersburg Mikhailovsky college and Tsarskoe Selo Officer's school, also the courses of Military Academy after Frunze. During the WWI he commanded a brigade at Armenian Separate corps, participated to the Battle of Sardarapat. In 1937 he became a victim of stalinism.
