During his reign Krishnarajendra sagar Dam was built on the Kaveri river in the districts of Mandya and Mysore. The Chamrajsagar dam was constructed in Thippegondanahalli that supplies drinking water to Bangalore. Apart from this the Vanivilas sagar dam was built in Chitradurga

He founded Victoria Hospital (Bangalore Medical College),Vanivilas Women and Childrens hospital and Minto eye hospital in Bangalore. He is regarded as the founding father of Mysore Medical College in Mysore.Under his rule a modern health system was designed for Msore state.
