Rajmata Krishna Kumari was the last reigning Maharani of Marwar-Jodhpur (1947-1949), a state of Rathores. After the death of her husband Maharaja Hanuwant Singh, she was Regent for son, Maharaja Gaj Singh II. She is also known as HH Maharani Krishna Kumari Ba Sahiba of Dhrangadhra.
She provides a strong cultural binding to the family. She faced the brunt of the sweeping changes immediately after India gained independence. She instilled in her young son his sense of duty.
She contested the Lok Sabha election in 1971 from Jodhpur and won by a record margin.
Rajmata is deeply religious and continues to participate in a range of social and religious activities.
