Krishna Hospital was one started in the 1989 ,Visakhapatnam ,Andhra Pradesh , India by the renowned eminent Gynecologist Dr.G.Ramakrishnam Raju, with the objective to provide high standard medical care in the field of obstetrics & Gynecology. It provides specialized medical care to women with an aim to render holistic services in obstetrics and gynecology right from the pre-conception antenatal and post natal time. A patient can be assured of getting full facilities of treatment in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Krishna Hospital is recognized for Diplomate in National Board of Examinations in Obstetrics & Gynecology since 2003. Every year 2 candidates are taken for structured post graduate training leading to the final examination (DNB Ob & Gy) There is clinical and theory class organized every week Saturday through out the year. The candidates work full time in the department involving in all the activities to ensure a comprehensive training in fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology

- On an average 300 to 400 oocyte retrivals / annum are being performed in this IVF Clinic
- The First IVF baby in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa was born on 1997-11-01.
- The First ICSI baby was born on 13th Sep 1998-09-13 in the Andhra Pradesh State.
- On 1998-12-22 the first baby was born by testicular sperm aspiration in Andhra Pradesh State
- First laser baby was born on 2000-03-05 in South India.
- First authorized training centre for In vitro fertilization (IVF)/Endoscopy/Ultrasoundand Trained 50-60 gynaecologists in infertility,endoscopy and ultrasound
- Leading In vitro fertilization centre in chennai was trained by Dr G A Rama Raju and furthere training is gien on an ongoing basis.
- First Twins Delivered Using Preimplantation genetic diagnosis & Fluorescent in situ hybridization - Aug, 2006
LABOUR AND DELIVERY
At present the labour and delivery area handles an average of 30-40 deliveries per month out of which 30% of them fall into risk category. For all the booked cases ultra sound scanning is done for dating anomaly screening and placental localization etc. Biophysical profile, NST, monitoring during labour is also done to improve the out come. Facilities for emergency intervention of labour at any given time are readily available. A well-equipped neonatal care unit is available and a well-trained technical staff are involved in this job.
OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT
The out patient dept is available for treating routine cases of gynecology and obstetrics. On an average 150-200 patients are treated.
OPERATION THEATER COMPLEX
The hospital has a well-equipped three operating theaters. All major gynecological and obstetrical procedures are carried out in these theaters.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITY
A library with basic textbooks and reference books is available. Many international and national journals in obstetrics gynecology (lippincot) and medical are available.
TRAINING
The junior doctors working in this hospital are trained in the diagnosis, ante partum and intra partum management of high-risk obstetric patients, conduction of normal delivery, complicated delivery and neonatal resuscitation. They are also trained to do major operative procedures such as D & C, MTP and sterilization procedures. Once they are experienced, they are trained to do caesarean sections and other major surgical procedures.

- Spindle View : Physicians and embryologists at the Krishna IVF Clinic can now observe and assess the majority of the egg’s spindle, enabling them to determine which eggs are most suitable for fertilization. This technique also offers improved diagnosis of infertility in middle-aged women. This technology includes the use of an instrument called an LC polscope spindle view which offers a clear view of a critical but fragile structure within the eggs, known as a spindle.
- Vitrification : It is the procedure in which excess embryos obtained in an IVF Cycle are frozen. It has advantage over slow freezing process. Embryos are thawed before transfer.
- Pregnancy loss workup: In cases of recurrent pregnancy losses, uterine factor (HSG/Hysteroscopy) , Immunological factor (LAC, APTT, ACA, ATA), Hormonal Evaluation (TSH, PRL, GTT), Ultrasound examination, karyotyping (Chromosomal analysis) are done according to necessity.
