Kribensis is the common name for a number of west african fish from the family Cichlidae [1]. Kribensis are popular aquarium fish amongst aquarium hobbyists [2].

The name kribensis is normally associated with Pelvicachromis pulcher, though it is also applied to Pelvicachromis subocellatus and Pelvicachromis taeniatus. Kribesis are bottom dwellers and are very undemanding. They can be easily bred. T[1].

The females are smaller and have round purple belly. Males can have purple but do not have a belly
