Kreisliga
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kreisliga is a low tier in league sports in Germany and the 8th tier of league soccer there.
The Kreisligen usually rank right below the Bezirksligen, Bezirksklassen or Landesligen. Any teams finding themselves at the bottom of the Kreisligen would find themselves in one of the local "Kreisklassen". The system however varies from region to region and sport to sport, such that it is not uniform for the whole of Germany.
In the region of Württemberg and Südbaden for example, there are no Kreisklassen. The Football-Kreisligen are instead subdivided into three different levels, A, B and C. In Bavaria and Nordbaden, the Kreisliga is right above the Kreisklasse, which in turn is subdivided in A, B and C.
