KRES (104.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Country music format. Licensed to Moberly, Missouri, USA, the station serves the Columbia MO area. The station is currently owned by Moberly/ Macon License Co, LLC and features programing from ABC Radio .[2] The station began broadcasting on 1550 AM in St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1947 playing hits from the 20's, 30's and 40's. The station changed its call sign to KKJO in 1962 and began playing hits from the 50's and 60's.

Today KRES broadcasts on 104.7 FM with a news/sports format. KRES is the Moberly affiliate for St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Throughout the day the on-air programmers who can be heard on KRES include, Brad Boyer, Bill Peterson, Stephanie Ross, Mike Lear, Chad Speakar, Brad Tregnago, Ari Temkin, Brandon Peoples, Jenna Tayon, Aaron Wood, and Mike Yates.

On March 1, 2007, it was announced that DeanRadio.TV LLC plans to buy The Shepherd Group of radio stations in Missouri. The Shepherd Group operates 16 small-market radio stations in Missouri. The deal, reportedly worth $30.6 million, must still be approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

Dean Goodman recently formed the new company, DeanRadio.TV. He is the former president and chief executive officer of the television broadcasting company ION Media Networks Inc. Goodman stepped down from ION Media Networks in October 2006.

The Shepherd Group includes KJEL-FM and KBNN-AM in Lebanon; KJFF-AM in Festus; KREI-AM and KTJJ-FM in Farmington; KRES-FM and KWIX-AM in Moberly; KIRK-FM in Macon; KOZQ-AM, KJPW-FM, KJPW-AM and KFBD-FM in Waynesville; KAAN-FM and KAAN-AM in Bethany; and KMRN-AM and KKWK-FM in Cameron.
