Edits to 300zx

It appears that RedBeauty84ZX is insistent on his changes on Nissan 300ZX despite being warned about: 1) copyright violation, and 2) edit wars. This includes re-uploading deleted images, claiming to be the owner of the images (including Nissan promotional, commercial content), obviously ignoring the edit war warning, and making juvenile comments (e.g., "wtf," "images suck," etc.). 131.225.22.189 19:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
  1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
  2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
  3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
  4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
  5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
  6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

Lisa Ann Diaz

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Lisa Ann Diaz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

In the absence of the originating editor, whose only contribution was this and one other article, I am noting this to you as the first still editing contributor. I realise that you are not responsible for the content or style. This article was commented upon at Jimbo's talkpage so I found the first good editor on the article history. LessHeard vanU 12:17, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm... I note you already declined a {{db-attack}} attempt to remove this article, placed by the editor who made the comment on Jimbo's talkpage. I trust my placing the PROD hasn't usurped your previous decision. LessHeard vanU 12:33, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
I am in no hurry to delete the article, but I would very much like to see it improved. I shall take my time to delete it if nobody comes up to clean it up, but I will if necessary. If it is then recreated in a better style then that would be cool too. LessHeard vanU 19:53, 9 June 2007 (UTC) Oh, it seems it was deleted anyway, so everything above is moot. LessHeard vanU 19:53, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Interestingly it was deleted as {{db-attack}}/BLP with no source... I didn't think much of the news reference, but I thought it constituted a source. Oh well, I am not going to get involved in wheelwarring. LessHeard vanU 20:00, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:MainSPStest.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MainSPStest.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:58, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 22:58, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Douglas Berger

I am writing to inquire as to whether you might be persuaded to elaborate on why you thought a consensus had been reached on this discussion. If the keep and delete discussions were regarded quite liberally and all of them included, it would seem there was no consensus. If you take into account that one delete comment included an unsubstantiated claim about the purpose of the article then didn't assume good faith on the part of the article's creator, another delete comment didn't address the nomination, and a third comment duplicated that; then the consensus would be keep (despite comments about how the article was written). I understand that there are concerns over the lack of secondary references per WP:BIO, but the article did arguably prove notability per criteria four of WP:PROF. It didn't seem there was any actual doubt that the sources for this person's work were "credible published materials with a reliable publication process." My questions about this being consensus are just my own curiosity. I wasn't really attached to the article or anything, and from the turnout, it may be that few people cared. Eagle Talon

Hello, KarkatoaKatie. Congrats on your newly acquired admin powers! Anyways, I noticed that you saw the trolling on the Eagle TAlon page. Well, I will summerize teh story. A user called User:Spoolintsi took to making fancrufty edits to the Talon page, as well as adding images of modified cars there. Me adn another user reverted a few times, he created a sockpuppet called User:MikeTSIawd and continued to edit war. I got the page protected, so he and his sock took to trolling on the talk page. I got the sock blocked indef while Spoolintsi got blocked for 24 hours. Anyways, If you see anymore of those edits on the Eagle Talon talk page, please just revert them and block the user that made them indefinately, as they are either sockpuppets, strawpuppets, or meatpuppets of Spoolintsi. Karrmann 10:51, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Yep, After he created another sockpuppet that attacked me and trolled Request for page protection, it was decieded that the normal 24 hour block was too lenient and that he was just going to troll and editwar, to they indef blocked him. What I think we need to do, at least until we know that he is no longer creating sockpuppets, is to watch the Eagle Talon page and talk page closely, and block any sockpuppets immediately. Unless he is one of the real bad vandals like Willy On Wheels, then they will eventually give up if enough of their sockpuppets and/or ragpuppets get blocked. Karrmann 20:30, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Deletion Log

Please, if you can, be a little more explicit in your deletion log summaries. Summaries such as "deleted "Wheeler ball" (content was: '<!-- Please do not remove or change this AfD message until the issue is settled -->{{AfDM|page=Wheeler ball|date=2007 June 10|substed=yes}}<!-- End ...')" make it hard to understand what the justification was. Thanks! GoodnightmushTalk 18:59, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Macs and popups

I figure you're the expert here, and, of course, I supported your RfA, so I get special treatment. LOL. Anyways, sometimes when I edit articles, the popups through random HTML code into the edit. I don't notice it until later. Have you noticed this? Or am I doing something wrong? Orangemarlin 18:28, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Corrado Giannantoni

Hi I noticed you delected the Corrado Giannantoni article. I had put in an object to this deletion - but I did not read any responses to my objection. I believe that the article should be reinstated, what should we do about this? Sholto Maud 23:20, 12 June 2007 (UTC) An editor has asked for a deletion review of Corrado Giannantoni. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review.

Vandalism

I reported "Black Metal ist krieg" who has vandalized more than one entry during the past week and re-vandalized one page after it was reverted. You deleted my report with a comment that he hasn't vandalized for the past 3 hours. User:FreddieRockStar1991/Queen

Hi, I crossed that article when checking for contested prods, and I see you removed the tag. Since that's not the first time I see someone removing a subpage for that reason and I wanted to double check with you. My understanding was that you could prod a userpage when the user is inactive for a while. Am I incorrect? -- lucasbfr talk 08:05, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Time for an other break! Thanks for the clarification. Just for fun, WP:PROD states that Only articles may be proposed for deletion. The only exceptions to this rule are pages in the User and User talk namespaces which may be proposed for deletion if the user has no recent edits and has made few or no contributions to the encyclopedia.. Seems we got a glitch, I'll propose rewording a bit CSD on the talk page. -- lucasbfr talk 08:33, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

The Scary Guy

Hi KrakatoaKatie. There is a discussion at the help desk about the speedy deleted of The Scary Guy ("per (CSD g11), was blatant advertising, used only to promote someone or something.") I do not believe that this articles is a speedy deletion candidate. The article did set out the importance of its subject. In addition, I found twenty-seven news articles between 1998 and April 2007 that specifically are about this guy. There is enough WP:RS material to create an article on the topic, even if the present article is not that. As a kind act, would you mind listing this one at AfD instead of speedy delete. Thanks! -- Jreferee (Talk) 19:10, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I was looking through tis history and I saw that you deleted some old request and may I ask you not to do that again because in the process you deleted the all the closed request here and some of the request which were not 48 hours long..Please be careful and next time let an admin or a more experienced editor remove it.. Icar RPG Page deletion

You have deleted my article concerning the Icar RPG. Your reason is that it is not 'Published'. Please accurately describe what you mean by "Published". To the majority of the RPG community, a Published RPG is one that is produced available in download or printed forms - not just sold over the counter. Just because Icar is free and downloadable by PDF, does not mean it is any less a published RPG. You will need to delete all independent RPGs that have not been printed but sold in 1000s across the net. If you need further input, please consult the RPG main communities The Forge, RPGNet, RPG Outpost, RPG lounge, 1KM1KT, Storygames or RPGSite. I look forward to a swift resolution. Rob Lang. --Brainwipe

(crosspost from User talk:Brainwipe)
Hello – thanks for the message. You were notified above that the article was proposed for deletion on June 6. The article was not improved during the five-day period, and no one objected to its deletion by removing the blue notice at the top of the article. Therefore, the five-day period expired and the article was deleted. I didn't provide the rationale – the person who proposed it for deletion did. If you feel an error was made, you can take your case to deletion review. Thanks again – KrakatoaKatie 22:29, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Thankyou KrakatoaKatie! I shall endeavour to improve the article and will keep a better watch on it in the future. Best regards, Rob

DONT DELETE PHRIKE

Phrike is not a bad article, compared to many other truly mediocre ones. It had good insight about a god from Greek mythology that many people don't know about, and I even cited a good source (Aaron Atsma, who is Greek himself). At least if you will delete a perfectly good article, please be so kind as to inform me as to why.

RandyS0725 05:12, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

(crosspost from User talk:RandyS0725)
Hello – thanks for the message. Phrike was proposed for deletion on 2007-06-06 by Pmanderson, who gave this rationale: "evidence-free. The conjecture that there is a Greek personification behind Seneca's Horror may be sound; but we have no idea what the Greek would be." You were notified on June 7 by NickelShoe that the article could be deleted. No one objected to its deletion by removing the blue notice on the article page, and no one improved the article or even edited it during the five-day proposed deletion period. (The only edit made to the article since you created it was the proposal for deletion. That isn't good or bad – it's just an observation.) When the five days expired, the article was deleted. Please don't take the deletion personally, because it isn't personal at all. If you feel an error has been made, you can go to deletion review and make your case. Thanks again – KrakatoaKatie 05:44, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

If he leaves another tonight after AuburnPilot's last warning, I will. I hate to do that unless absolutely necessary. If I could just get the other editors to stop picking at the guy and let him alone, it should settle down a bit. He's heading for an indef block if he's not careful so I want him to take a good period of time to think before he comes back, and he's not going to think about anything but this block until the current engagement stops. - KrakatoaKatie 04:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Merger of Radio Monash Page

I don't think consensus was reached at all. You can't merge the page if consensus is not reached! I think the argument should be reopened for further discussion. How do I go about this? Cazza411 12:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Just looking at the Monash University article, this is not really an appropriate place for the Radio Monash article to be merged. Note that the article states the station has three stakeholders, the University itself, the student association (I would assume this is the MSA as the station is based at the Clayton Campus), and the Radio Monash Associatio which I have found is an incorporated body separate from either the student union or the university itself.Cazza411 12:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Closure of Deletion Review Discussion For Radio Monash

  • I submitted the Radio Monash article for deletion review as you suggested. The discussion was opened, but unfortunately has been closed (almost immediately) by another administrator who says I can't have the item as a deletion review because the decision you made was to merge rather than delete. What do I do now? Cazza411 16:01, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Just letting you know that I will no longer be contributing to wikipedia, or even using it as a basic reference anymore. I've been insulted and flamed by one particular user, and it's put me right off wikipedia. I don't want anything to do with it.Cazza411 16:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Air Jordan

Hi there, I just have a general question as to what we do with text that is completely plagiarized as Air Jordan is. It doesn't even credit the Geocities site, do we just add a reference head at the bottom and credit that site? Thanks in advance for the response. The main reason I didn't revert back to that version was because I didn't know if plagiarism counted as copyright infringement or not. Yours, Saturday Contribs 03:57, 26 June 2007 (UTC).

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 15:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Darryl Morris "Broadcaster"

Only recently an article was deleted Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Darryl Nathan Ernest Morris. Now a few weeks later it has resurfed again as Darryl Morris (2). The article still fails under WP:BIO. It's not been done very well. Perhaps you could look into it. Cwb61 (talk) 19:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

AZ Alkmaar Current Squad

Whenever one clicks on any individual player of AZ, there appears at the bottom the squad of AZ. However, the box is entitled "AZ Alkmaar Current Squad", which is incorrect. The club is AZ and Alkmaar should not be added to it. I am not sure how to change it and I would like some help with this. Many thanks, Gary.

Hope things are well

Sheerness FAC

Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Sheerness article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Thank you very much, if you can. Epbr123 12:23, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Mac Stuff

Thanks so much. BTW, the last woman I'd ever date is a brand new intern. Interns have no time, and you know, I'm a typically needy guy. LOL. Anyways, things that save me time are going to be on the list of purchases. Orangemarlin 00:59, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

You are also the 1st to receive the Chain Barnstar of Recognition in it's official version, the first Chain Barnstar I ever made; don't know if anyone else have made a Chain Barnstar before me. If not then you are the first to receive a chain barnstar. Pseudoanonymous

I've merged her into Buddy Holly. What's the next step? Do I redirect the page now? Clarityfiend 17:32, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

USHMM deletions

Hi KrakatoaKatie,

You deleted several entries a few days ago posted by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. I am a representative with of the USHMM and have already been in touch with Phil Sandifer about this particular account in that regard. Additionally, the Museum contacted Carolyn, the Executive Director of Wikipedia, in regard to our project, and she informed us that our plan to upload wikipedia articles was desirable. As such, I would like to know if the articles you deleted could be returned to the public domain, and how I can ensure that I will not face similar problems in the future.

Faton krasniqi

I'm not sure what's up with Faton krasniqi, you've deleted and protected it I gather, with good reason I see, but it still shows up as extant and still categorized in the Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. I'm hesistant to undo another admin's doings, but leave it to you regarding how to proceed. Cheers. Carlossuarez46 19:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I'd love to give you a tutorial, but (sheepish blush) I've never delete/protected a page. I'm a new admin and haven't learned all the ropes yet. I'll try something that I've seen someone else do and see if it works. Back in a sec. Carlossuarez46 20:01, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I guess all you have to do is put {{deletedpage}} as the page's sole content and you get what you want. Carlossuarez46 20:05, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
      • I'm glad I'm not the only one befuddled by somethings. I was closing some Afds a slow and arduous process: you need to find the right templates and need to right parameters to pass to them, until another admin pointed me to a script that automates the whole shabang! I'm sure that there's lots of those scripts around that all the new admins have no clue about. Perhaps we can rustle up some interest among some of our "Summer 2007 classmates" to try to put together a "what new admins should know" from a practical side rather than from a "be careful that you don't mess this or that up" side like the current advice pages are. Just a thought. Carlossuarez46 20:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
        • You can always propose some text on the talk page and let people have their say about it. Usually no one does and if that ends up being so, I'd say its safe to add it, being bold. :-) Carlossuarez46 21:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
          • Thanks for the barnstar; more newbie things: I am in my first DRV over a "no consensus" close I did on Afd. Oh, well, they'll let me know if I missed a consensus there I suppose. Carlossuarez46 03:31, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

A new admin tool for you!

Hello Katie. You beat me to the punch on WP:AIV twice and I thought that I should come here and congratulate you for your speed. :-) However, I checked your logs on my way here and I was very impressed by your deletion log. I think it's about time that you receive something that'll make your hard work a lot easier. ;-) Best regards, Húsönd 00:28, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

The Vacuum Admin Upgrade 3000

I hereby award you the Vacuum Admin Upgrade 3000. Time to get rid of the old mop and have a modern device to suck up all this wikidust that keeps falling all over the place. Regards, Húsönd 00:28, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
You're welcome. You raised a good question. I think that WP:AFD does have the best method to keep old discussions neatly organized and easy to find. Maybe that system should be followed by other discussion areas of Wikipedia (such as WP:UCFD for instance, I've found myself searching Google several times for specific discussions that had taken place there). At the same time, changing the systems around might become quite a headache. I don't know, maybe you should talk about it at WP:AN alright. Regards, Húsönd 01:46, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Cumbum, Tamil Nadu

Hi! Just to make everyone's job easier, could you please tell me how pages with content should be redirected/moved. Thank you very much for the merge. Just curious isn't the Krakatoa, a volcano? Thanks--AltruismT a l k - Contrib. 04:45, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I got the point, henceforth I shall use the "move," even to move pages with content. Belated congratulations on your admin role. C Ya --AltruismT a l k - Contribs. 06:46, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Tom Weihmayr (please restore)

I am writing regarding the deleted page with title above.

I did not receive a message about the impending deletion until the page was already deleted. Can you please reconsider the decision to delete this article. I can support its validity if you wish to enter into a discussion on fact.

I am new to Wikipedia....in fact the only changes I made were for factual content to my page. Please let me know ho to go about entering into this discussion.

best regards,

Tom Weihmayr Deletion

Katie,

I was away from my computer (out of town) for the last week, so was unaware of a discussion.

2 points to ponder if you could review. National press coverage was allocated to the arrival of Ms. Haskett to contest the nomination, so while I was not the focal point of the news, I was a protagonist.

The other point of notability was the comment on my awards. I am proud of my military medal, CD, as it was duly earned. My Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal was not awarded therough the CF but rather through my member of Parliament (in part) for community involvement. And finally, and most notably was the SICOFAA Legion of Merit Medal and the fact that I was the first Canadian reservist to receive it.

Regards,
