[edit] World's only Jewish town outside Israel?

Are we sure about this? What is the criterion --must it be 100% Jewish? Majority Jewish? There may be a few others. Historically speaking would the Jewish Autonomous Oblast be of consideration as well? It seems like a heck of a statement on its own. --Bobak 15:33, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

The quote was taken from here: [1] It actually appears to be true, because I don't know of any other such place currently in existence. Krasnaya Sloboda is not a town on its own, it is rather a suburb of the city of Guba. But Jews historically settled compactly there and had their own community. But it appears that the article used as a reference was edited lately. Now it reads: Just one town in the Caucasus, and perhaps the only one in Eurasia, is still known as Jewish.
