Krasnochetaysky District

Krasnochetaysky District (Russian: Красночета́йский райо́н; Chuvash: Хĕрлĕ Чутай районĕ) is a district (raion) of the Chuvash Republic, Russia. The district's administrative center, the village (selo) of Krasnye Chetai, is located 124 kilometers (77 mi) from Chuvashia's capital city of Cheboksary. District's population: 21,117 (2002 Census); 24,589 (1989 Census).

The district was formed on September 27, 1944. It is situated in the north-west of Chuvashia, bordering Yadrinsky District in the north, Morgaushsky District in the east, Alikovsky and Shumerlinsky Districts in the south, and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in the west.

The head of the Krasnochetaysky District administration is Alexey Ivanovich Krikov.
