Krantiveer is an Indian Bollywood film directed by Mehul Kumar, released on July 22, 1994. The film stars Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni, Danny Denzongpa and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. The film was a major critical and commercial success; it became the third highest grossing film of the year,[1] additionally winning three Star Screen Awards, four Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award.

Lazy, alcoholic and unemployed Pratap Narayan Tilak (Nana Patekar), who at a very young age was thrown out of his village by his mother for disobeying her orders, meets a famous journalist called Megha Dixit (Dimple Kapadia). Megha persuades Pratap to install justice into his surroundings, defend their rights and make them independent. However, he is bumped into a strong resistance, both from within his very own community, the police, and some very powerful and influential politicians. Unable to bear the injustice, Pratap decides to take the law into his own hands, resulting in chaos and violence, thus giving rise to a saga of revenge and corruption within his own people.
