Kragerøbanen was a 27 kilometer railway line between Neslandsvatn and Kragerø in Telemark, Norway.

[edit] History

The line was opened on December 2, 1927 as an extension of Sørlandsbanen from . In 1935 Sørlandsbanen was extended from Neslandsvatn to Arendal via Nelaug. The last part of the line from Neslandsvatn to Kragerø was degraded to a branch line and given the name Kragerøbanen. The line was closed for passenger traffic on December 31, 1988, though a few lumber trains were operated afterwards. The tracks between Sannidal Station and Kragerø Station have been removed and replaced by a new highway. Kragerø Station has been transformed to a bus station and tourist information.
