[edit] History

KQMV, which signed on the air in November 1964 as KFKF-FM (and later became KBES), has adopted several different formats: Progressive Rock KZAM-FM from April 1975 to July 1983, and Adult Contemporary KLSY (Classy 92.5) from July 1983 to May 2006, even though in February 2002 they would become Adult Top 40 as Mix 92.5, but retained the KLSY calls.

After Mix 92.5 was unsuccessful, Sandusky launched "MOViN 92.5" on May 1, 2006 at 12:00 PM, giving Seattle its first Adult-targeted Rhythmic format in ten years since KBKS in 1996. The last song on KLSY was Semisonic's "Closing Time", while KQMV's ("MOViN") first song was The C+C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)." Unlike KBKS, KQMV features a mix of Rhythmic Pop/Dance currents and Old School hits in a Adult Top 40-like presentation and positions itself between Rhythmic Top 40 KUBE and non-commercial Dance Top 40 station KNHC. KQMV targets 25-44 females.

KQMV added on-air DJs during the Fall of 2006. The current lineup includes Monti and Brooke Fox in Mornings, Program Director Maynard in middays, Mason in Afternoons and Kris "KAZ" Nascimento holding down the evening slot.
