[edit] History
KQLA went on the air in 1986 with a Top 40 format. It moved over to the current Hot AC format sometime in the early 90s. It featured programming from ABC Radio, which was satellite-fed. This lasted until 2005 when it cut the satellite feed and focused on local DJs. The satellite-fed format, known as "Today's Best Hits", can still be heard on KCKS "94.9 Kiss FM", which can be reached in the Junction City area. It was owned by Kaw Valley Broadcasting Company until an agreement was reached for the sale of KQLA to Platinum Broadcasting on August 1, 1997.
