[edit] About me
I was born on Long Island, New York but moved around a lot. I now live in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I am currently in the process of becoming a librarian, though I don't yet know where I will be living and working after I get my graduate degree. Despite living in Germany for years I don't speak any German, and what little Spanish I learned in high-school/college I am quickly forgetting.
[edit] Education
I graduated from Gettysburg College in 2005 with a major in Computer science and a minor in Political science. I am planning on attending graduate school in order to get a Master of Library and Information Science. I took a year off for an internship, and hope to will attend Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania starting in April of 2007.
[edit] Work
I currently work at Musselman Library at Gettysburg College, doing a lot of different things. When I'm not working at the reference desk, I am usually doing something related to web programming and/or design. As a result of my work I have taught myself XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP/MySQL.
[edit] Hobbies
When not at work or with other people, I enjoy videogames, SciFi shows, books, reading and posting at Slashdot and GameFAQs, and of course, editing Wikipedia. Thanks to Netflix I have been able to watch years worth of sci-fi in a few months. I am a huge fan of Babylon 5, Crusade, Firefly, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, the new Battlestar Galactica, seaQuest DSV, and Earth 2. I've also recently been watching Space: Above and Beyond, Farscape, the original Battlestar Galactica, V, and Alien Nation. Besides sci-fi I also like animated shows such as South Park, Family Guy, the Simpsons, Futurama, Sealab 2021, and Harvey Birdman. With the exception of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I'm not a huge fan of fantasy televison or books.
I've also been gaming since I got an NES when I was 5 (1983). While an fan of all consoles, my favorites have been the NES, Super NES, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and Nintendo DS. I'll be getting a PSP, Xbox 360, and Wii soon, and a PlayStation 3 when it isn't so expensive. My favorite genres are first-person shooters, JRPGs, and shmups.
[edit] Current activities
I am in the process of learning the ColdFusion and JSP server-side scripting languages, and afterwards I will probably teach myself .NET. I should learn Ajax at some point, though I don't really care for it from a user standpoint.
I just got all of the Sonic and Mega Man videogame collections, so I have been playing those a lot recently. That will end as soon as I get Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
[edit] Wikipedia
My areas of interest (when it comes to Wikipedia, at least) generally reflect my offline interests, specifically modern sci-fi television shows (modern meaning "the ones that were on since I've been alive") and computer and video games. Recently I joined the have joined the computer and videogames WikiProject, and before I was heavily involved in the editing of the Earth 2 and Sex and the City series articles. Really, I just like to browse Wikipedia and fix articles that interest me. I guess that makes me something of a WikiGnome - WikiFairy hybrid.
Other projects that I work on are changing links that point to Disambiguation pages so they go to the actual article, which get listed on the WikiProject index page. I also like to fix dead-end pages and orphaned pages, as well as categorize pages that need them. These pages aren't high on anybody's list, so they tend to get neglected as well.

I put everything in the public domain just because I think it is easiest for everyone. If I really cared if someone copied something I publish, I wouldn't put it online in the first place.
