Koushiro Izumi (泉 光子郎 Izumi Kōshirō), (born April 24, 1987), also known as Sean Kaczmarek
Koushiro is best known for his skill in Stepmania, an online simulation game of DDR [Dance Dance Revolution]. He has also become well-known through the other Bemani game communities such as ITG [In The Groove] and PIU [Pump It Up]. Recently, he has taken interest into other games known as Beatmania IIDX, and Guitar Hero.
Personal Life
Koushiro was born in 1987 in Chicago, IL. As a child, and up until now, he has been living in the Wicker Park neighborhood, one that he considers to be 'peaceful, yet always busy'. As a child, Koushiro went to St. Helens Elementary School, and as a teenager went to Noble Street Charter High School, graduating and continuing his education at DeVry University. Although, college life for Koushiro would be short-lived, as several personal problems rose to occur around him that would prevent him from being able to afford such a high-demanding university. Roughly a year later, on October 11, 2006, Koushiro's great-grandmother had passed away, which had taken a great toll on his life, and turned his future into a new direction. As of today, Koushiro continues to own the residential apartment within the Wicker Park neighborhood, and says that he looks forward for what is yet to come for him.
The Gaming Universe
Koushiro has taken a huge love of videogames over the past 2 years, and has made a huge rep in the online simulation game Stepmania. StepMania is a rhythm video game for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux created by Chris Danford. It was originally developed as a simulator of Konami's popular arcade game series Dance Dance Revolution, and has since evolved into an extensible rhythm game engine capable of supporting a wide variety of rhythm-based game types. Released under the MIT License, StepMania is free software. As of today, Koushiro continues to hold his title as #7 in the Top 10 best 'Index' players of all time on Stepmania, a title of which he has had since May of 2006. Outside of the Stepmania universe, he has become quite confident with his skill and is slowly improving his skill on the arcade games 'Dance Dance Revolution', 'In The Groove', and 'Pump It Up', he claims to be aiming 'as high as he can get, and then some'. He has made no comment as to where he stands at as of now, and how far away he is from his goal. He had simply said 'you will know when I get there'. As for Beatmania IIDX, Koushiro says that he hopes to improve his skill in it, but doesn't look forward to creating a rep for it as he has other things in which occupy most of his time. He also states that his skill in Guitar Hero is slowly improving each and every day, and is 'still trying to find his limits'. Outside of the Bemani world, Koushiro also plays games such as Halo 3, which has quickly gained popularity, just as it's previous releases of the games had done very well in the market. Koushiro stated that he 'isn't much of a fighting game person', and that he prefers action/rpg games as opposed to fighting games.
