Koudekerk aan den Rijn

The village (red) and the statistical district (light green) of Koudekerk aan den Rijn in the municipality of Rijnwoude.

Koudekerk aan den Rijn (52°8′N, 4°36′E) is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Rijnwoude, and lies about 4 km west of Alphen aan de Rijn.

The village Koudekerk aan den Rijn has a population of around 3730.[1] The statistical area "Koudekerk aan den Rijn", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 4280.[1]

Koudekerk aan den Rijn was a separate municipality until 1991, when it became part of Rijneveld. Until 1938, the municipality was just called Koudekerk.[2]

Armin van Buuren, one of the most famous and well-known trance musicians, hails from Koudekerk aan den Rijn.
