[edit] The Saint Dog Conflict

Someone needs to address how Saint Dog left the band and Richter stepped into the band to take his spot. i tried putting it in there but someone took it out cus they said it was poorly written. but in the article ,it totally jumps from Saint Dog being in the band to Richter being in it without anybody knowing what happened, if someone wanted to know about the kottonmouth kings, they would prolly be confused. [edit] cleanup

I have replaced the cleanup tag that was removed without comment. I have also replaced my recente edits (to diambiguate a few links), which were similarly removed without comment. I have also removed an external link to copyvio material.

This article in very poor shape, and has some POV problems. In particular, the large, unattributed quote in the beginning of the article should be rewritten. If the quote is to be kept, it needs to be set-up properly and given some context. This is probably not the right course of action, since the quote is much larger than what's normal -- particularly compared to the size of this article. -- Mikeblas 22:40, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Now OK! LUCPOL 11:58, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
The out-of-place quote I mentioned still remains, so I've replaced the cleanup tag. Please clean up the quote; removing it outright might be a good idea, since it is unattributed. -- Mikeblas 21:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I've removed the quote and taken a cleanup pass through the article. Not surprisingly, there's really little information here on the band. This article would benefit from some research and good writing. -- Mikeblas 00:41, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doug Carrion merge

After removing the material that was copyvio pasted from AllMusicGuide, the Doug Carrion page contains almost nothing that isn't on the Kottonmouth Kings page. I suggest they're merged, so that Doug Carrion redirects to Kottonmouth Kings. -- Mikeblas 16:49, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

It turns out Doug Carrion isn't a member of KK -- making it even more questionable that the same paragraph appears here and in the Doug Carrion topic. I'll put Doug Carrion up for deletion, since nothing salvagable is left. -- Mikeblas 17:13, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Was Doug Karrion in the KK, or no? AllMusic doesn't say he was, and neither does this article. Some other articles do, though. What's the story? -- Mikeblas 17:52, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Doug Carrion does guitar/bass work on the albums. I dont know if he tours with the band or just performs on the album -- jhaddon

[edit] !?!

Please not written "D-Loc works with DJ Bobby B in Tsunami Brothers and Johnny Richter in Kingspade, as well as a solo career as Shaky Bonez." or "Daddy X fronts the Humble Gods (of which Doug Carrion is also a guitarist) and a solo career" etc. This is arcicle "Kottonmouth Kings", only Kottonmouth Kings! PS. Please not erase 1/4 arcicle. This is vandalism. LUCPOL 21:36, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

The text you're asserting "not written" is already in the article as it stands today; I'm just moving it to a more appropriate spot -- outside of the decsription of the band and to the section on the individual members. After all, that text describes the side projects of the individual members, and not the band itself. I explained my intent to removed the giant quote above, more than a week ago. That quote is nearly nonsensical, and is not attributed to anything. Even if it were correct, it is a terrible run-on sentence and needs copy editing. -- Mikeblas 22:57, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Arcicle in magazine

[edit] Songs

I've removed the list of songs from the article, as they're available on the articles for each album and the information is redundant here. -- Mikeblas 16:30, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Right. Lists song in arcicle on album. LUCPOL 18:11, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] vandalizm

this page needs to be cleaned up badly soon please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.235.53 (talk • contribs)

It was taken care of earlier today. In the future, feel free to edit and revert yourself. -- Mikeblas 21:28, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Label

It says in this article that they are on and run their own label but for many of their album's wikipedia entries it puts them under Capitol Records. Which one is right? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lukereiser (talkcontribs) 08:35, 22 December 2006 (UTC).

They only have a few albums released on Capitol Recors, most of their albums have been released on Suburban Noize Records (their own label). War wizard90 23:55, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Suburban Noize Records is distributed through Capitol Records. Jake5150 00:34, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

The deal with Capitol Records was a 3-album deal. Capitol fronted them money to create their own label "Suburban Noize Records." The 3 albums released were: "Royal Highness", "High Society", and "Rollin' Stoned". Capitol also optioned to distribute "Hidden Stash" and "Hidden Stash 2: The Kream of the Krop". The rest of the albums since "Rollin' Stoned" have been Solely released by Suburban Noize Records with the exception of "Greatest Highs" which was also distributed by Capitol Records. [edit] Save this page

I'm going to do some research and try to save this page. Anybody who wants to help please do but I think there should be a legit KMK page. After this I will probably move on to creating a Subnoize Souljaz page and working on the others related to KMK. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by RankRabbit (talk • contribs) 01:49, 7 January 2007 (UTC).

I had most of the new page written until somebody screwed me up and I hadn't saved it so I still go some work. I plan on doing some more and hopefully finishing but I won't be able to find the time until later. If someone would like the notes I have to work on the page just leave a message on my talk page.--RankRabbit 07:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album name incorrect

The name of the album released in May of 2005 is self-titled "Kottonmouth Kings". It is NOT named No. 7, just because it has the Jack Daniels No. 7 on the cover doesn't make it the name of the CD. Look it up on iTunes it even comes up under the album name Kottonmouth Kings, not No. 7 It is also on their website at http://kottonmouthkings.com/media_kmk.php Someone needs to fix it. War wizard90 11:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind I fixed it, and nominated No.7 (album) as an artice for deletion.

[edit] EDITING THIS PAGE!

[edit] Too Mixed Up To Make Any Sense

Insert non-formatted text here Nothing on this disscussion page makes any sense, it's so out of context. It needs to be fixed immediatly.

someone please add that: they toured with Potluck (also California-natives), Subnoize Souljaz (Dirtball & Big B), Dogboy, and Boondox in the fall/winter of '06.

I agree.Someone within wiki really needs to revamp this page to make it intelligible.

[edit] Bleh

I've pretty much given up on this page, I tried for months and months to improve it, and was progressing well. But too many people either vandalize the page. Or too many "bros" that think they know everything about KMK come and post worthless crap, and put in unrefrenced "facts." It's impossible to keep up with all the idiots who destroy the page. So good luck to anyone who tries to fix this page. War wizard90 03:41, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Idea

Here's what needs to be done to make this page coherent to the average reader: Quit smoking dope while your editing!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pjt408 (talkcontribs) 17:12, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kmkmkottonmouf.jpg

Image:Kmkmkottonmouf.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
