Kottakuppam is a panchayat town in Viluppuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Kottakuppam had a population of 24,076. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kottakuppam has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 58%. In Kottakuppam, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
