Coordinates: 14°01′60″N 80°03′00″E / 14.0333, 80.05 Kota is a village in Nellore District in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the headquarters of the Kota mandal and is known as the political hub of Nellore District. It is one of 19 villages in the Kota mandal.

Kota is located 30 km east to Chennai-Kolkata National Highway 5 (from Gudur) and 15 km away from the Bay of Bengal coast. The Sriharikota Satellite Launching Centre and the Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary are each located about 40 km from Kota.
