Kostroma River

Kostroma (Russian: Кострома́) is a river in Kostroma and Yaroslavl Oblasts in Russia, left tributary of the Volga. The length of the river is 354 km. The area of its drainage basin is 16,000 sq km. The Kostroma freezes up in November and breaks up in April - early May. The city of Kostroma is located at the confluence of the Kostroma and Volga Rivers.
