Koster Islands

The Koster Islands are two islands west of Strömstad, Sweden. The two islands are called South and North Koster. The two islands have 300 year-round inhabitants (240 of them at South Koster). In summer, the number of inhabitants increases. South Koster has an area of 8 km² and North Koster an area of 4 km². The south island is vegetated and the north island is rocky. You reach the island by boat from Strömstad. The islands have a lot of tourists from Sweden and Norway. The islands are the most westerly inhabited Swedish islands.
