Kosovo Forces fatalities

Since the Kosovo Force (KFOR) entered Kosovo in June 1999, following the Kosovo War to stabilize the province of Serbia, 157 KFOR soldiers from various nations have been killed, mostly in accidents.[1] The dead include: 39 Unidentified, 34 Slovak, 18 American, 13 German, 12 Russian, 8 British, 6 Italian, 5 French, 5 Polish, 3 Spanish, 3 Ukrainian, 2 Turkish, 1 Austrian, 1 Danish, 1 Dutch, 1 Greek, 1 Norwegian, 1 Romanian, 1 Swedish and 1 United Arab Emirates soldier.

Three unidentified Russian soldiers were shot and killed in 2001.[55]
One unidentified soldier from Denmark was killed in a traffic accident in 2003.
An unidentified soldier from Turkey was killed by a land mine explosion in 2003.
34 Slovakian soldiers were killed when their military plane crashed in Hungary while returning them from Kosovo to Slovakia on January 20, 2006.[56]
Another 39 NATO soldiers of unknown nationalities were killed. This includes: 3 in traffic accidents and 1 in an unexploded ordnance explosion in 1999, 1 in a traffic accident in 2000, 1 in a riot between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovska Mitrovica in 2001, 1 in a traffic accident in Skopje in FYR Macedonia in 2002, 3 in various accidents and 1 in a land mine explosion in 2002 and 1 in a traffic accident in 2007.[57][58]

Seven UNMIK police officers have been killed in Kosovo since 1999, in addition to the KFOR fatalities.[59] The dead include: 2 American, 1 Indian, 1 Jordanian, 1 Nigerian, 1 Phillipino and 1 Ukranian police officer.
