Koshekhablsky District (Russian: Кошехабльский райо́н; Adyghe: Кощхьэблэ район) is an administrative and a municipal district, one of the seven in the Republic of Adygea, Russia. It is located in the eastern portion of the Republic and borders with Kurganinsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the north and north-east, Labinsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the east, Mostovsky District of Krasnodar Krai in the south, Maykopsky District in the west, and Shovgenovsky District in the north-west. The area of the district is 606.7 km²[1]. Its administrative center is the village (aul) of Koshekhabl. District's population: 31,296 (2002 Census); 29,766 (1989 Census). Population of Koshekhabl accounts for 23.4% of the district's population.
The district was established on December 31, 1934 as a result of disaggregation of the districts of Azov-Black Sea Krai.[1]
