[edit] High School

Sheets played for Bloomfield High School,[2] leading the team to a Connecticut State Championship as an all-purpose back. In his senior year, he had 2,588 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns in being named the state Player of the Year by the Hartford Courant as well as an all-conference selection. Kory also earned all-state and all-american honors in track and field, while coming out of high school as the No. 23 all-purpose back in the country by Rivals.com

[edit] 2005 Season

Despite limited playing time, Sheets finished fifth in the Big Ten with 5.5 yards per carry (players with over 100 rushes) and ended up with 104 carries for 571 yards. With an average of a touchdown per 10.4 rushes, he tied with Minnesota running back Lawerence Maroney for the lead in this category. Kory also added 13 receptions for 132 yards and played on special teams as well.

[edit] 2006 Season

In week two of the 2006 season, Sheets scored four rushing touchdowns against Miami University, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime.[3] This gave him seven touchdowns for the season to that point.[3] On November 20, 2006 Sheets recorded the first blocked punt of his career, and the third on the season for the Boilermakers.[4]
