Kormilda College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kormilda College is a coeducational secondary school in the Northern Territory of Australia, run under the auspices of the Anglican Church and the Uniting Church, although students of all religions are accepted.

The school was established by the Northern Territory Government in 1967, as a boarding school for Aboriginal students, however in 1989 the school was privatised, and it began enrolling day students and boarding students of all races. The school is currently open to students from grades 7 to 12 (prior to 2004 only students in grades 8 to 12 were accepted). Kormilda College has offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma to students in grades 11 and 12 since 1990. As of 2006, over 900 students are enrolled at the college.
