Are you sure Kopa is at the end of The Lion King? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.152.226.7 (talk • contribs) .

The cub isn't supposed to be according to official film canon, but when The Lion King was made no one had any idea that there would be a sequel and the cub's gender would be changed. The authors of TLK6NA had no idea that a sequel to the film would occur either. It depends on whether or not you regard TLK6NA as canon. Blue Phoenix 14:42, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Kopa is not the cub at the end of The Lion King. would you please stop adding Kopa as the cub at The end of The lion king.- Mrsanitazier 23:11, 21 June,2006 (UTC)

Please stop putting Kopa is the cub at the end of The Lion King is a false fact it is a fanfiction topic. .- Mrsanitazier 23:49, 21 June,2006 (UTC)

  • Hi, we are not adding Kopa to the main article The Lion King. But you said that he is the cub at the end. I'm confused. Here is the link to your comment: Kopa Disney created Kopa for The Six New Adventures. For this article, Scalytail and I believe that mentioning Kopa at the end of the Lion King is okay. Cheers. --Starionwolf 18:09, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Are you kidding Kopa is not the cub at the end Chaka is. As stated in the MS Word format of

The Lion King Script So putting Kopa as the cub at the end of The Lion King is not okay and what I said is wrong and I will delete the Kopa section. -Mrsanitazier 21:25, 28 June, 2006 (UTC)

  • Please do not delete the entire section on The Lion King's talk page. The comments are useful for future uses. Unfortunately, Wikipedia may not allow material from fansites like lionking.org to be included in Wikipedia. I have looked at the MS Word script but I cannot verify the claims in it. Please cite some official sources. Thank you for understanding. --Starionwolf 00:54, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kopa the cub at the end of the film

The Lion King: Six New Adventures is a canon Kopa is definitely the cub at the end of The Lion King Mrsanitazier 0:05 8 July,2006 (UTC)

Lion King 2 says otherwise. Lion King 2's canonity > Six New Adventures' canonity. 24.14.120.92 12:06, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] According to The Lion King: Six New Adventures,

According to The Lion King: Six New Adventures, is not needed in The Lion King section in the article since I already stated that The Lion King: Six New Adventures is a canon.

[edit] That is NOT Kiara at the end of the Lion King. It is Kopa!

the cub at the end of the first film was a male cub because his ears were trimmed with black. females don't have black on their ears.--JasonX80 11:15, 1 August 2006 (UTC)JasonX80

Too bad! Kopa is not canon! Whether you like it or not, it IS OFFICIALLY Kiara at the end of Lion King. 24.14.120.92 23:50, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure if Disney has ever made an "official" statement on the matter, but most likely they meant for us to assume the cub is Kiara. There is some discussion of this in the WikiFur page The Lion King/Who was the cub?. --Mwalimu59 23:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Something as big as King Simba's first born son dying would have been mentioned. 24.14.120.92 00:04, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
It depends. I don't see any reason to assume Kopa died. It's true he was seemingly absent from TLK2 but it doesn't necessarily mean he died. There are several possibilities. For all we know perhaps he became the renegade son who no one was ever supposed to talk about :-P Nil Einne 16:21, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
No! Stop with your stupid speculations! HE DOESN'T EXIST. He didn't die because he didn't exist in the first place! KOPA DOES NOT EXIST. The Lion King 2 is canon! 24.14.120.92 01:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

The idea of what is canon and what isn't is absurd. Being a fan of the lion king, like al films or books etc, is a very personal thing. The reasons and more importantly ways I enjoy the Lion King aren't all the exact reasons why you enjoy it. It's a fan's right to be actively and individually involved with the film. If believing that the cub is Kopa helps you to better enjoy the film - BY ALL MEANS BELIEVE IT! It isn't enough for an author or other authority figure to come out and say "This is how it is, end of story". It puts it into a black and white perspective. I personally believe the cub was Kopa, and do not consider SP (like a few other fans I've run into) canon. So what?! That's how I choose to enjoy the film. I Just Kissed A Pacino

[edit] existance and disputes

i do and do not belive kopa exists either.and i certainly do and do not belive tanabi exists. but the cub at the end of the movie does look more like a boy/girl, a mixed genderd cub. but why dispute over something so little? it's one of the biggest lion king mysteries but we will find out if kopa and tanabi exists when we see the lion king 4 come out on dvd or comes to theaters. [edit] a cub seen at the end of a timone and pumbaa episode

what about the cub seen in an episode of timone and pumbaa where timon was impersinating hero X? there was a baby cub seen there, and it wasn't kiara or simba, timone and pumbaa takes in a time period where simba is an adult, and so that baby cub could have been kopa.
