Kopaniec is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Stara Kamienica, within Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany, known as Seifershau.

It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south of Stara Kamienica, 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of Jelenia Góra, and 108 kilometres (67 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. Kopaniec is situated in the foothills of the Iron Mountains (Góry Izerskie) near the Giant Mountains (Karkonosze). The village is well known because the artist colony (see www.kopaniec.pl). There are many agro tourist facilities.
