In konso there are nine calns every of them have there own leaders. Thes leader trasfer their leading position every eight year. The groups of peoples blongs to these leaders from nine calens have responsibility to take care of the konso people for ever strange.the konso people are known by thier long experience of traditional soil conservation. And have got world award of natural conservation from UNDP in 1995. In 2005 above 30,000 youngsters were re-settled in south Omo zone and in Besketo special woreda. since there are above 50,000 konsos living in Oromiya regional state Taltal woreda additional 10,000 were estimated that they re settle there. Based on the central statistics authority of Ethiopia the birth rate of the special woreda is 5.
