Konstantin

A first name Konstantin is a derivation from the Greek name Konstantinos (Κωνσταντίνος), this comes from the Latin name Constantine. The name is used in many languages to refer to Constantine the Great, eg. in Russian and German. Furthermore, it is a very common name in central Europe. A number of notable persons in the Byzantine Empire, and (via mediation by the Christian Orthodox Church) in the Russian history and earlier East Slavic history are often referred to by this name.
