Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering is an engineering college located in the Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India.The college is located in a 50 Acre site abutting Buckingham Canal, about 8km from Vijayawada in Guntur District. Erstwhile affiliated to Nagarjuna University, Guntur, the college was granted autonomy in late 2006. It is going to become a Deemed University by the end of May,2008. The college is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.The college is certified by ISO 9001 - 2000.

The college was established in 1980 by late Sri Koneru Lakshmaiah & Sri K.Satyanarayana with the vision of imparting school like education system in engineering and succeeded quite well. Late Sri K.Lakshmaiah (graduate of BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore), realizing the scarcity of local talented Engineers, came up with the idea of establishing an Engineering college in the rural setting for the benefit of local population. Since the college took shape Lakshmaiah continuously strived to place it in among the best engineering colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Secretary and Correspondent Sri K. Satyanarayana (also a graduate from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore) has since taken over the reins as Chairman. The college got 75% placements in the during 2003-2006.

To impart technical education in cutting edge technologies, inculcating applied research, scholarly inquiry, creative endeavor, through the knowledge and values based molding of students and make an imprint in the economic and social development of the Nation.

The College started with four conventional disciplines in 1980. It presently offers 9 programmes in the undergraduate courses and 5 programmes in the post-graduate courses {M.Sc Computer Science, MCA and M Tech}. KLC is the first Engineering college in Andhra Pradesh which started Industrial & Production Engineering branch in undergraduate courses and having NBA accrediation for Biotechnology. It has a total plinth area of 38045 m². The college has three computer centers catering to the computing needs of the students and staff.

The college had an e-learning site through which the students get their assignments and submit them online Every student studying in KLCE has to bring his own laptop to the college everyday and the college is fully provided with Wi-Fi network to able students to browse the web resources.
