Please do not continue to re-add Beaver Bank to the Lower Sackville article. It is not particularly notable, and should not be mentioned. Additionally, please do not attempt to advertise Beaver Bank with glowing mentions in the article; this violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. ♠PMC♠ 20:40, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I couldn't find very many Google hits for Beaver Bank that weren't simple address listing, so I concluded it wasn't notable. Then I looked up the other neighbourhoods, and found little for them as well. So I've simply removed the entire neighourhoods section as non-notable. ♠PMC♠ 19:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Beaver Bank Monarch Drive Elementary

A tag has been placed on Beaver Bank Monarch Drive Elementary, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SamBC 02:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Beaver Bank Monarch Drive Elementary

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Beaver Bank Monarch Drive Elementary, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. DES (talk) 05:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Which article?

Which article is that? I am not a mind reader nor do I have a photographic memory. Postcard Cathy 16:29, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh, you are very welcome! Can you categorise it please, btw? And do something to improve it such as adding notable alumni, Blue Ribbon School award type things - anything that might help keep the article so mr. grumpy editor doesn't get his way!  :) Postcard Cathy 16:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
A week or two ago I prod'd an article that basically said John Jones is a pro football player in SDFkJFLDJ Town. Well, to me that is not notable. A notable person - in this case an athlete - has honors, awards, is team MVP, etc. If that was true for John, it wasn't listed. The guy got really po'd cause I did it while I wasn't signed in. So he literally said "What right do you as an anonymous user have to prod my article?" I told him if he wrote a better article I wouldn't have had to prod it and as long as Wiki allows anon users to prod articles, that is where I have the right to do it. So, I signed in, and against the rules reproded the article. I asked him if that was better. He told me if I had done in it the first place, he never would have said what he did. At the end, I just told him he was pissed at something whether it was that he was pissed his article got prod'd, something else, or both but don't get angry at me because of it. If it was because his article was prod'd, I told him not to waste his energy getting mad at me and instead look at the reasons I prod'd it in the first place and then improve the article. IIRC, he left it as is and the article was deleted. Such BS if you ask me. Postcard Cathy 16:45, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Juan-satellite2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Juan-satellite2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as you did to Hurricane Katrina. This is a simple mistake to make and by now should have been corrected. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talkpages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Hurricane Juan (2003), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Please stop moving this from page to page. If you want to remove the tag, then just edit the page. However, I will then nominate it for deletion (see Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion), as there is already an article on this subject. Oli Filth 21:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Demetrius Joyette requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. [edit] March 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Demetrius Joyette. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 21:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
