Komisario Palmun erehdys (1960) is a Finnish crime movie directed by Matti Kassila, and based on the Inspector Palmu novel by the same name by Mika Waltari.
The plot concerns the murder of Bruno Rygseck, a rich playboy living in Helsinki. The man is found dead in his swimming pool, supposedly dead by accidental causes, after hosting a crime-themed party. It is only due to hints given by Veijonen, the dead Rygseck's butler, that Inspector Palmu becomes convinced that a murder has been committed. The investigation is eventually shut down when no evidence comest to light, only to be reopened when Alli Rygseck, Bruno's wife, is killed suddenly by means of poison in a glass of absinthe.
