Komesha
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Komesha is one of the 21 woredas in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Asosa Zone, Komesha is bordered by the Oromia Region on the south, Bambasi and Menge woredas on the west, and Sirba Abbay woreda on the north and east. Although the OCHA map shows Komesha as part of the Kamashi Zone,[1] this map has the warning that it is not definitive for national or intranational boundaries, so its inclusion in the Asosa Zone by the Central Statistical Agency (CSA) is followed here.
The largest settlement in this woreda is Komesha.
Based on figures from the CSA in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 12,948, of whom 6,613 were males and 6,335 were females. With an estimated area of 645.78 square kilometers, Komesha has a population density of 20.1 people per square kilometer which is greater than the Zone average of 19.95.[2]
