≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 13:06, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

I've found this: [4], on the google I've found he was Czechoslovak or Slovak footballer. If he represented Czechoslovakia he had to have Czechoslovakian passport and in the 1976 there was no possibility to switch country. We assume he was hungarian nationality from its name, which is probably right. There was a recent edit war between two editors one wrote he was Slovak and second wrote he was Hungarian. I think the compromise should be he was Czechoslovak of hungarian nationality (supported by sources). Please discuss. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 00:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

  • first name koloman, this is a slovak name, kálman would be the hungarian variant, family name is gögh, that is german, he is born in kladno (czech/german?), i self wrote first, that he is hungarian from slovakia, but that is not ok, i have this information from a good friend from gögh. but without sources is this information not relevant. we have a person, that could be czech, german, slovak, hungarian, from austria. sure is only, he played for czechoslovakia and lived in today slovakia. for another statement please sources. --Mt7 09:09, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
    • 3 sources at top of page, that he was slovak. --Mt7 09:11, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
      • No source from the three you listed say he is Slovak. After WWII Germans were expelled (also from Kladno) and some 70,000 Magyars from Slovakia were forcibly sent to same territory, as they were victims of expulsion, too. Your attempts to whitewash history are LOL. --Darwinek 09:20, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
        • please don't revert without sources, no personal attack. --Mt7 09:23, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
          • First of all, you are not citing sources. Second, you was that one who firstly added to the article that he is Hungarian. Third, therefore you are very likely schizofreniac. Fourth, you will be blocked again, if you will continue reverting. --Darwinek 09:25, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
        • Calm down guys. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 09:27, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Please, no personal attack, if I say he is probably not Hungarian it is not schizofreniac, but only Wikipedia:No original research.--Mt7 09:56, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] new facts

thanks kelovy for foto - an actual and appropriate source, at grave is his name koloman gögh. that is the slovak variant, hungarian variant would be kálmán gögh or probably, a variant with hungarian ö like petöfi. now is definitive clear, gögh or his close relatives see self/gögh as slovak. any weblog, that say gögh is hungarian is not a good source for me. --Mt7 09:31, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

This is not a reliable source. I have plenty of Polish friends with Czech names and surnames and vice versa. Grave inscription is not an indicator. - Darwinek 11:53, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Is that true? Is it not true? As a reader of Wikipedia, I have no easy way to know. If it is true, it should be easy to supply a reference. If it is not true, it should be removed.

I really want to encourage a much stronger culture which says: it is better to have no information, than to have information like this, with no sources. Any editor who removes such things, and refuses to allow it back without an actual and appropriate source, should be the recipient of a barnstar. --Jimbo [5] --Mt7 13:01, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] new facts Nr. 2

kelovy say, we have a new source: Kálmán Gőgh, thanks kelovy --Mt7 13:13, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] facts

he write his first name slovak Koloman, slovak passport. --Mt7 11:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC) it is not question, if he was slovak or not, that is fact, question is if he was additionaly hungarian minotity, i say no sources, in czechoslovakian citizen= slovak or czech or something another, but czechoslovak nationality was not existent. --Mt7 20:50, 20 April 2007 (UTC) removing {{Fact}} templates if i give sources is ok. --Mt7 20:51, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Comments by Piotrus

There is no doubt he was a CZECHOSLOVAKIAN player. There is a ref for that ([6]) and it takes precedence over non-English ref (please translate their claim about him being a Slovakian, not Czechoslovakian). After Cz. breakup he played for Austria so we cannot really use modern Czech vs. Slovakia divisions for that period. As for Hungarian origin, this needs references or can be removed. Polish wiki states he has Hungarian citizenship. Also, what citizenship (Czech or Slovakian) did he take after Cz. break up?-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  20:55, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

what you say is humbug, no one is czechoslovak player Ján Čapkovič, Antonín Panenka, Ladislav Jurkemik,Ivo Knoflíček, František Plánička, Ján Švehlík, Josef Masopust, Alexander Vencel (born 1944), Ivo Viktor, we need a new wikipedia for you. --Mt7 21:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
It is sure, he has to be in category Czechoslovak footballers, but czechoslavak player is not possible, he has after 1993 slovak cititenship. --Mt7 21:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
