Kolodischi TV Mast

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kolodischi TV Mast ( Russian: РТПС Колодищи ) is a 350 metres tall guyed TV mast situated at Kolodischi, east of Minsk in Belarus at 53°57'40"N 27°46'42"E.

Kolodischi TV Mast, which is among the tallest towers in Belarus, was built in 1970, but there was already a broadcasting station for mediumwave before World War II at Kolodischi. In the recent years the number of transmitters using Kolodischi TV Mast grew enormous reaching the ability of Kolodischi TV mast carrying antennas.

As replacement and/or supplement for it, plans for a 425 metres tall TV tower at Minsk were developed. These plans are, although no adaquate other facility exists in Minsk area, obviously canceled for financial reasons.
