Kolding Gymnasium or Kolding Gymnasium, HF-kursus og IB World School[7] is a Danish gymnasium, which, aside from the standard gymnasium courses, also offers the HF programme and the IB Diploma Programme.[8]

[edit] History

Kolding Gymnasium was founded in 1542 by Dorothea of Brandenburg, Queen of Denmark,[9] and re-located to new buildings in 1975, where it remains today. In 2002, the school adopted the IBDP as one of its main types of education. In 2006, the school suffered extensive water damage, forcing the students to stay home for week. Some of the students took lessons during the Danish vinterferie instead, to compensate for this.[10]

Since then, the school has undergone a huge amount of on-going repair; a new auditorium has been built, the facade of the school has been renovated, and a new knowledge centre, to house the school library, has been built.[11]
