Kolathur (கொளத்தூர்) is a panchayat town in Salem district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Kolathur had a population of 10,319. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kolathur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 53%. In Kolathur, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
